  Jazz Funerals...A New Orleans Tradition...

In New Orleans there is a wonderful tradition of celebrating the life of a departed loved one.  This is often done by hiring a Jazz band to escort the hearse to the cemetery, playing a slow, mournful dirge as they go.  But once the graveside service has ended, the band strikes up a fast, swinging tune and leads the mourners in a joyful parade back to the French Quarter.  Typically the band is followed by an enthusiastic "Second Line" of dancers and revelers who are as joyous as if they were celebrating Mardis Gras!

As Jazz musicians, we know and revere this tradition, and we can re-create the New Orleans style funeral service to remember and honor your loved one......contact us to make arrangements for a special send-off.
